Global maritime management company OSM Thome has officially opened applications for Batch 02 of its Ratings Program. The initiative offers aspiring Filipino maritime students a direct, fully supported path toward building a long-term career at sea.
The program provides comprehensive structured training—including two months of pre-sea enhancement followed by six months of onboard training—designed to transition qualified trainees into full-fledged Ordinary Seaman (OS) or Wiper positions based on performance.

Applicant Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the selection process, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship & Age: Open to male and female Filipino citizens aged 19 to 24 years old.
- Academic Requirement: Completion of the 3-year academic requirements for either a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) or a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) under the Cadets' Course Completion Program (CCI).
- Experience Level: No prior shipboard experience is required.
Benefits & Career Pathway
Selected candidates undergo a two-phase training structure before entering active commercial service:
- Pre-Sea Enhancement Training (2 Months): Classroom and practical preparation to establish essential maritime safety, operational knowledge, and vessel readiness.
- Onboard Training (6 Months): Hands-on practical sea time aboard vessel fleets to build real-world experience.
