Viral Sewer Girl Admits She Has Vice

Rose Marie, the woman who recently captured public attention after being filmed emerging from a sewer in Makati City, has spoken out about her personal struggles and past vices in a candid interview with vlogger Boss Toyo of “Pinoy Pawnstars.”

The video, which quickly went viral on social media, showed Rose Marie retrieving a cutter blade from the sewer—a tool she uses in scavenging recyclable materials such as cartons and plastic bottles. The blade, she explained, had accidentally fallen into the sewer, prompting her to retrieve it despite the dangers.

In the interview, Rose Marie admitted to using illegal substances, though she stressed that it’s not a daily habit. “Nagbibisyo naman po pero hindi naman po araw-araw eh,” she said, acknowledging the role substance use has played in her current circumstances.

When asked about visible scars on her arms, Rose Marie revealed a painful history of self-harm. “Nung naghihiwa ako hindi pa po ako gumagamit niyan,” she said, clarifying that the self-inflicted wounds were from a time when she still had a stable source of income.

Moved by her story, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has stepped in to provide her with P80,000 in financial assistance. Local government units have also started monitoring her situation closely, offering immediate support to help her get back on her feet.

Throughout the interview, Boss Toyo urged Rose Marie to make the most of the second chance. “Magbago ka, pilitin mo kasi ako dati rin ako [nag]bisyo—parang walong taon akong lugmok sa bisyo araw-araw,” he said. “Kailangan magbago ka kasi sayang ‘yang ibinigay sayo, mauubos ‘yun.”

The public has shown mixed reactions to Rose Marie’s viral fame—some expressing sympathy, others raising concerns about her safety and well-being. Still, many hope that the newfound attention and aid will serve as a turning point in her life.

As her story continues to unfold, Rose Marie stands as a reminder of the many Filipinos living on society’s margins, struggling quietly yet holding on to the hope of change.
