The adjustment will apply to both the open system and end-to-end toll rates, as well as the Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX).

New Toll Rates for End-to-End NLEX Travel
For motorists traveling the full stretch of NLEX, the toll increases are as follows:
Class 1: P416 (P57 increase)
Class 2: P1,039 (P142 increase)
Class 3: P1,247 (P171 increase)
Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) Toll Adjustments
Toll rates for the Subic Freeport Expressway (SFEX) will also increase:
Class 1: P44 (P7 increase)
Class 2: P111 (P18 increase)
Class 3: P133 (P21 increase)
Reason Behind the Toll Increase
According to the TRB, the toll adjustment is part of the periodic toll rate adjustments from 2022, with only 50% of the approved hike being implemented in this first tranche. The decision was made to help curb inflation and reduce the impact on expressway users.
Additionally, NLEX Corporation was granted approval to recover its investment in the newly completed Candaba Third Viaduct through add-on toll fees. The Candaba Third Viaduct was fully opened on December 10, 2024, after phased openings in August and October of the same year. During its initial months of operation, no add-on toll fees were collected.
Motorists’ Reactions
The toll increase has drawn mixed reactions from motorists. Some have expressed concerns about the rising cost of transportation, especially amid ongoing economic challenges. Others acknowledge the necessity of toll adjustments for continued infrastructure improvements.
With the increase taking effect soon, regular NLEX users are encouraged to plan their budgets accordingly and stay informed about further toll adjustments in the future.
