Saquilayan's case against Norial dismissed, Grab driver released

Female Grab driver Florence Norial, who got involved in an altercation with a cop in Taguig City last week, was finally released on Tuesday.

Taguig City police chief Police Colonel Celso Rodriguez confirmed this on Tuesday.

Norial posted P3,000 bail for the unjust vexation. Meanwhile, the complaints for alarm and scandal, direct assault and violation of Art. 151 of the Revised Penal Code were dismissed due to lack of probable cause.

In a Facebook post, Norial's boyfriend, Mirza Miguel Shahzad, thanked everyone who expressed support and extended assistance to their camp.

"Nailabas na po namin siya after almost seven days. Pumayat siya lalo pero we will do our best na ibalik ang sigla niya. Di ko na po kayo maiisa-isa pasalamatan pero thank you po," Shahzad said.

Norial was arrested outside a commercial establishment for allegedly hurting Police Captain Ronald Saquilayan, which she said was an act of self-defense because the police officer had pushed her during their confrontation.

A police report from the Southern Police District also stated that Norial became unruly so she was arrested by Saquilayan.
