A child was successfully rescued from a tense hostage situation on Saturday evening in Taytay, Rizal.

Taytay Mayor Allan de Leon commended the swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement officers, led by Rizal Provincial Director Philip Maragun and Taytay Police Chief Marlo Solero, in resolving the crisis.
“Under the leadership of our Provincial Director Philip Maragun, Taytay Police Chief Marlo Solero, and the task force multiplier, the hostage situation was successfully resolved, and the child was rescued safely,” De Leon said in Filipino via a Facebook post.
Following the incident, both lanes of the C6 Road, which were temporarily closed, have now been reopened to motorists. Earlier, the mayor had warned of heavy traffic along C6-Lakeview heading toward Taguig due to the standoff.
Authorities have yet to disclose further details on the cause of the hostage-taking or the identity of the suspect. The situation remains under investigation.
The successful resolution highlights the vigilance and preparedness of Taytay’s law enforcement, ensuring the safety of its residents in critical situations.
