Makati City Distributes 35,371 Grocery Packs to Public School Students

On Tuesday, May 21, a total of 35,371 grocery packs were distributed to students in Makati City's public schools, ranging from Kindergarten to Senior High School, including Special Education (SPED).

Makati Mayor Abby Binay highlighted that this initiative was launched by the local government unit (LGU) during the 2020-2021 school year. It serves as an incentive for public school students who successfully completed their respective grade levels despite the challenges posed by the pandemic.

“We have decided to make this an annual incentive that students can look forward to at the end of each school year. We want to show our appreciation for the hard work and diligence of our students and motivate them to continue doing their best in their studies every school year until they graduate,” Binay stated.

The distribution of the grocery packs has become a much-anticipated event for Makatizen students each May. The mayor assured that each grocery pack contains highly nutritious and tasty food items for the students to enjoy.
