Transport group Manibela is determined to proceed with its planned jeepney strike scheduled for Monday, October 16. The strike is in protest of the perceived "phasing out" of jeepneys and the alleged corruption within the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Valbuena informed Rappler that Monday's strike will impact approximately 600 routes across Luzon, with 150 jeepneys affected on each route. However, not all jeepney operators will be taking part. The "Magnificent 7," which includes major transport groups like Pasang Masda and PISTON, have agreed with the government not to participate in the strike.
Nevertheless, the transport strike has already caused disruptions, leading some schools to shift classes online. In anticipation of potential commuter inconveniences, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority established a multi-agency command center to monitor the strike's progress and deploy free ride vehicles in various local government units.
Some classes were suspended due to announced transport strike.
