IATF names Taguig as Model City in COVID-19 response

Taguig City was granted the COVID-19 Response Service Award from the Department of Health (DOH) last January 27, 2021 during the IATF visit at the Taguig City Mega Vaccination Center in Lakeshore Complex.

The City Government of Taguig was recognized through a plaque of appreciation for its exemplary leadership and exceptional commitment in the implementation of COVID-19 response and ensuring quality health services in the community.

Mayor Lino, on the other hand, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed the city government’s efforts in strictly enforcing rules, listening to experts, and working closely with the national government.

As part of the initiative to put an end to the virus, the local government conducts a COVID-19 Vaccination Dry Run at the Taguig City Mega Vaccination Center, Lakeshore Mega Complex in Brgy. Lower Bicutan—one of the five mega vaccination centers the city has prepared, showcasing the city’s step-by-step vaccination procedure, from the storage of vials in ORCA Cold Storage Solutions to its transport to the Vaccination Centers.

Taguig City remains to be among the cities with the lowest active cases per 100,000 population and lowest case fatality rate in the National Capital Region (NCR).

However, Mayor Lino reminds all Taguigeños to stay responsible and follow health and safety protocols while we await the vaccines’ arrival.
