Mayor Isko warns hotels forcing frontliners to leave

Isko Moreno Domagoso
Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso warned hotels on Friday, June 5, to stop operating if they refuse to work with the local government.

This after the Mayor received a report that a number of healthworkers were forced to vacate hotels despite the issuance of an executive order commandeering hotels as temporary shelter for frontliners.

"I have an executive order (EO). We are still under the state of health emergency and the local chief executive is empowered with that EO," Domagoso said.

"So its either they work with us or they stop doing buinsess in the City of Manila," the Mayor added.

Under Executive Order No. 17, all hotels and motels in the nation's capital are ordered to provide free accommodation for frontliners working in the city's district hospitals and other government-owned hospitals.
