The afternoon rites at the SRCC Auditorium was attended by officials of Taguig, the Department of Education and SRCC, all of whom wore face masks and observed social distancing, and robots made by SRCC’s very own whiz kids from Taguig Robotics Team.
Toga-wearing robots received the diplomas in behalf of the 179 SRCC graduates. The live videos of the graduates were projected on the heads of the robots as their names were called to claim their diplomas.

Simultaneously, footage of the graduates’ families was displayed on the LED screen. The graduates themselves watched from home via Facebook Live with their families.
Later, in separate rites at Taguig’s 24 public elementary and 12 other public high schools, the same robots will receive the diplomas in lieu of nearly 17,000 other graduates.
The ceremonies are part of Taguig’s Safe City initiative, which helps the city undertake its programs with minimum health standards conforming with COVID-19 protocol.
