The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has begun the rollout of the UPLIFT (Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport) program, a new government initiative designed to provide direct financial relief to vulnerable households amidst rising economic pressures.
More than 15,000 low-income and near-low-income families in Camarines Norte are slated to receive a monthly cash assistance of P2,000. According to the DSWD, the program is a strategic intervention initiated by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to help citizens cope with the impact of the energy crisis and the resulting surge in commodity prices.

- Target Demographic: Low-income and near-low-income households not currently enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) or the Walang Gutom Program (WGP).
- Inclusive Coverage: A separate tier of the program specifically includes low-income workers currently registered under the Social Security System (SSS).
Distribution Modalities
The DSWD is utilizing a multi-channel approach to ensure the funds reach beneficiaries efficiently:- Existing Program Beneficiaries: A separate payout has been initiated for 23,615 4Ps participants and 5,615 WGP participants, who will receive a one-time cash aid of P2,000.
- 4Ps participants: Funds are credited directly to LandBank ATM accounts.
- WGP participants: Payouts are facilitated through local government units (LGUs).
The launch in Camarines Norte marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to expand social protection coverage to those who fall just outside the eligibility criteria of traditional poverty-alleviation programs. Residents are encouraged to coordinate with their local DSWD office or Barangay social welfare desk to verify their eligibility under the CBMS database.
