The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has announced it is on high alert, continuously monitoring the volatile situation and extending assistance to Filipino communities in the region.

The latest escalation began on Friday when Israel reportedly conducted strikes on Iran. Israel stated its objective was to impede Iran's development of atomic weapons and neutralize its ballistic missile capabilities. Iran subsequently retaliated, launching its own series of airstrikes against Israeli targets.

In a strong message to the United Nations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi characterized Israel's actions as a "declaration of war." He further urged the Security Council to "immediately address this issue," as conveyed by the ministry.

Araghchi also claimed that Israel's attacks were deliberately timed to sabotage critical nuclear talks with the United States, which were slated to resume in Oman on Sunday but have since been cancelled. He asserted that Israel's offensive had the backing of the U.S., and that Iran's subsequent actions were purely in self-defense.

The Philippine government has consistently emphasized the safety and welfare of its nationals abroad amidst global conflicts, with embassies and consulates maintaining vigilance and preparedness for emergency responses.
