In a Twitter post, Domagoso said he will not hesitate to order the company’s shutdown, especially if they are operating in his city, should they misrepresent Manila.
“Kapag may nakita pa po kayong ‘Manila, Province of China’ labels sa mga produkto (If you find any ‘Manila, Province of China’ label in products), please do not hesitate to report it. Ipasasara ko po ‘yan (I will order their closure). Always check the label,” Domagoso said Friday.

This came after the local government learned that a company selling beauty products and based in the city indicated “Manila, Province of China” in its product label.
At least four stalls, including an administration office and warehouses where the beauty products were being repacked were shut down by authorities.

Domagoso warned that even in the midst of the pandemic, he “will not let any invasion of our sovereignty.”
