Photos of the former “That’s Entertainment” cast member and the ABS-CBN star talking over coffee spurred online rumors that 2 of Manila’s homegrown celebrities are teaming up for an onscreen tandem.
“Marami kaming pinagusapang bagay at abangan ninyo baka sa Disyembre makita ninyo ako sa pinilakang tabing,” Moreno told ABS-CBN News.
The actor-turned-politician declined to reveal more details about his supposed movie comeback, but said: “'Yung mapapanood ninyo sa pinilakang tabing, tapos na [ang shooting].”
Prior to his foray in local governance, Moreno starred in several movies and television dramas in the '80s and '90s.
While the mayor remained vague about his new stint in show business, he confirmed that the “Ang Probinsyano” lead actor offered to take part in some of Manila’s youth empowerment programs.
“Pareho kami ni Cardo, galing kami sa alaws (wala) e. Siyempre naramdaman niya din 'yung pakiramdam ng mga mahihirap nating kabataan,” Moreno said. “He wanted to encourage everybody.”
“Sabi niya, ‘Kuya Isko, anytime na kakailanganin mo ako, gusto ko magsalita sa mga kabataan,’” he said.
The city government has yet to finalize when and where the Kapamilya star can meet Manila’s youngsters, the mayor said.
