Two thousand Taguigeños composed of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program grantees, drug surrenderees, Persons With Disability (PWD), Out-of-School Youth, fisherfolk, solo parents and senior citizens received their salary for participating in the cash-for-work program.

During the event, the water lily products -- such as baskets, bags, dolls, boxes crafted by the beneficiaries of the cash-for-work program were also showcased.

Taguig City Social Welfare and Development Office officer-in-charge Ms. Nikki Rose Operario and Councilor Gigi Valenzuela-De Mesa led the distribution of the salaries held at Lakeshore Hall in Barangay Lower Bicutan last August 28, Tuesday.

In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Taguig City organized the cash-for-work program to allow beneficiaries to avail of a 10-day job that will provide them with extra income. The participants were assigned to clear water lilies in Hagonoy Creek, assist in urban gardening, charcoal briquetting, and to craft handmade products from waterlilies.
