The Philippine National Police on Thursday launched its Miss PNP "Ganda Pulis" 2018 beauty pageant as part of its advocacy to bring the police force closer to the community.
The pageant is now in its second year.
"Ang mga candidates, as well as the winners, will be our ambassadress in promoting the different advocacies of the Philippine National Police," community-relations group director Chief Supt. Rhodel Sermonia told DZMM
The 26 candidates are from their respective police regional offices, 5 districts of the National Capital Region Police Office and national support units.
The "Ganda Pulis" candidates will be visiting provinces to support and promote PNP's different community programs.
This weekend, the candidates will in Bataan and Tarlac to distribute "Pangkabuhayan Tools" for drug surrenderers who underwent government-rehabilitation programs.
They will also take part in a coastal clean-up drive and the Pulis Natin Caravan and Outreach Program in Baguio City.
Coronation night will be held on April 23 at Camp Crame.
