The initiative celebrates the anniversary of the signing of Republic Act No. 11055 (the Philippine Identification System Act) and aims to promote the widespread use and recognition of the National ID across public and private transactions.
Free Ride Schedule & Operating Hours
The zero-fare privilege is available every Wednesday throughout August 2026, specifically targeting morning and evening peak commuting hours:- Eligible Dates: August 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2026
- Morning Peak Window: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- Evening Peak Window: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Bonus Date: An additional round of free rides will be offered on September 16, 2026, to observe Global Identity Day.
What Formats of National ID Are Accepted?
Passengers do not need to wait for a physical card to enjoy the promo. Security personnel and station service gates will honor the National ID in any official format:- Physical Card: The standard printed PVC National ID card.
- ePhilID: The official paper-printed version issued by the PSA.
- Digital National ID: The digital card generated via the official eGov PH app or PhilSys portal on a mobile device.
How to Avail of the Free Ride
| Step | Action |
| 1. Timing | Arrive at any MRT-3 station during the designated window (7:00 AM–9:00 AM or 5:00 PM–7:00 PM). |
| 2. Verification | Proceed to the Service Gate (near the turnstiles) rather than tapping a standard Beep card. |
| 3. Presentation | Show your valid physical card, paper ePhilID, or digital ID on your phone to the station guard/personnel. |
| 4. Boarding | Proceed through the service gate directly to the platform. |
Don't Have a National ID Yet?
For commuters who have not yet registered for PhilSys, the PSA maintains active on-site registration desks at key MRT-3 hubs, including:- Araneta-Cubao Station
- Taft Avenue Station
Passengers can complete their registration or request assistances with generating their Digital National ID right at the station.
