The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has launched a livelihood assistance initiative under its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). This program is aimed at helping eligible beneficiaries start or expand a small business—including online selling.
According to the DSWD, the initiative seeks to empower poor, vulnerable, and marginalized individuals and families by helping them establish more stable and sustainable livelihoods.
What Does the Assistance Include?
Qualified applicants may receive a comprehensive support package tailored to their business needs:
* Seed Capital / Livelihood Grant: Financial assistance (amount depends on the approved livelihood plan).
* Capacity Building: Business management and financial literacy training.
* Mentorship: Business development support and ongoing guidance..
* Microenterprise Support: Dedicated assistance for scaling small businesses, including online selling setups.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Must be a poor, vulnerable, or marginalized individual or family head.
* May include select Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and other qualified applicants based on DSWD assessment.
* Must undergo screening, validation, and assessment by local DSWD representatives.
Important Reminders
* Not an Automatic Cash Grant: The ₱10,000 amount is not automatically awarded to every applicant.
* Based on Proposal & Assessment: The final grant amount depends heavily on the submitted livelihood proposal, the applicant’s assessment result, and available program funding.
* No Guaranteed Approval: Application and participation do not guarantee automatic approval.
