Commuters and motorists along EDSA are advised to prepare for traffic adjustments as construction for the SM Megamall Busway Station and Concourse is set to begin.
The project will break ground on Saturday, August 9, 2025, with the goal of creating a covered and convenient walkway that connects the EDSA Bus Carousel to SM Megamall Building A. The construction is expected to be completed by October 18, 2025.

To accommodate the project, northbound lanes on EDSA-Ortigas Avenue will be subject to nightly closures from 1:00 AM to 4:00 AM.
A partial lane closure will be in effect from Monday to Thursday, while a full road closure will be implemented from Friday to Sunday. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has confirmed that the EDSA Busway system will remain fully operational 24/7 during this period, with no expected changes to its trip schedule.
The DOTr has released a comprehensive rerouting plan for motorists to navigate the construction zone. For light vehicles, several alternative routes are available to bypass the closed lanes. These include using the Shaw Underpass or Shaw Service Road to turn right onto Doña Julia Vargas, then taking Bank Drive to return to EDSA.
Another option is to turn right onto Shaw Boulevard, then left onto San Miguel Avenue, which leads to ADB Avenue. Motorists on EDSA northbound can also turn right onto Pioneer Street and use various side roads to get back to EDSA. Heavy vehicles, such as trucks, are advised to take Doña Julia Vargas Avenue and Meralco Avenue to Ortigas Avenue to get back on EDSA.
This new concourse is part of a larger effort to improve the EDSA Busway system and enhance commuter experience. It will provide a safer and more accessible link for thousands of passengers who use the busy thoroughfare.
