Travelers looking for a new way to get to the popular surfing destination of Siargao are in for a treat. 2GO Travel has announced the launch of a new sea route from Manila to Siargao, set to begin on October 20, 2025.
This weekly voyage will offer a comfortable and affordable alternative to air travel, opening up the island to more tourists. The new route, which takes approximately 28 hours, promises a unique travel experience aboard the vessel Saint Francis Xavier, which can accommodate up to 1,900 passengers.
With its first departure from Manila scheduled for a Monday, the ship will arrive in Siargao the following day. This is a fresh option for both young and old who prefer to cruise and enjoy the journey rather than just fly.

Tickets are designed to be budget-friendly, with fares starting at approximately PHP 2,000 for the "Super Mega Value" accommodation. This price point makes the overnight sea journey accessible and provides excellent value for money. The fare includes a comfortable cabin and basic amenities, ensuring a pleasant trip.
The experience on board is akin to an international cruise ship, with a wide array of amenities to keep passengers entertained and comfortable. Travelers can enjoy salon and spa facilities, dining halls, and a café. For entertainment, there will be a nightly live band, karaoke rooms, and an arcade. The ship also includes essential services such as a clinic and souvenir stalls.
Looking ahead, 2GO Travel is reportedly collaborating with various government agencies, including the Philippine Ports Authority, Maritime Industry Authority, and the Coast Guard, to explore more potential sea routes.
For now, the company is fully dedicated to the Manila to Siargao route, which it sees as the first step in a broader plan to expand sea travel options in the country. The new route is poised to transform how people travel to Siargao, offering a laid-back and exciting alternative to reach the island's famous surf and sand.
