PHLPost Resumes Postal ID Applications Nationwide


The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has announced the resumption of applications for postal IDs after a temporary suspension.



The acceptance of both rush and regular postal ID applications, which was halted on March 10, 2023 due to technical issues, has now resumed across designated post offices nationwide.

PHLPost clarified that all applicants must personally apply at the capturing post offices. For first-time applicants, the following documents are required:



Proof of identity: Birth certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) or local civil registry, GSIS or SSS UMID card, driver’s license, or passport.

Proof of address: Barangay clearance, certified true copies of lease or property titles, real estate tax receipts, or utility bills (such as water, electricity, or phone bills).



For those renewing their postal ID, applicants must bring their expired postal ID alongside updated proof of identity and address. Married women are additionally required to submit a marriage certificate.

This resumption provides Filipinos with an affordable and accessible government-issued identification document, which is accepted as a valid ID in both public and private transactions.
