The allowance, amounting to 1,500 pesos per student, will benefit approximately 140,000 students as they embark on the new school year.

Mayor Vico Sotto announced the initiative, noting that it was recommended by the Local School Board (LSB) and the Schools Division Office (SDO). "We will wait for schools' attendance to stabilize – around 10 days – before we begin with distribution," Sotto stated, indicating that the funds will be disbursed once the attendance records are confirmed.
